REFINERY TECHNOLOGY, INC: Who we are

Refinery Technology, Inc. (RTI) was incorporated in 1980 as a consulting engineering service company providing construction audits for new Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units (FCCU) that were being built throughout the United States.

Later, RTI began to assist refinery and chemical plant maintenance groups with ongoing operating problems that resulted from thermal expansion of high temperature piping systems. This service greatly improved the reliability of rotating equipment and significantly lowered maintenance costs.

Continuing to add to our list of in-plant services we focused on Process Unit Reliability Audits which are most often completed prior to a unit turnaround. This service greatly assisted the turnaround planner and the turnaround contractor. Within the first 10 years of business we began to do complete detail engineering and construction supervision on FCC Unit Revamp Projects. Most of these projects involved the changing of (hot wall) 304H stainless steel piping to (cold wall) refractory lined carbon steel piping with the exception being the hot gas expander piping which continues to be 304H stainless steel.

Over the past 25 years, RTI has developed a number of specialized and unique engineering services for the refining and chemical business; improving existing designs, enhancing process unit reliability, and reducing the risk of unscheduled shutdowns; ultimately improving operating profits for our clients.
